Animal Surrenders

SURRENDERING AN ANIMAL
Due to the fact that we are operating or beyond capacity, we are currently not accepting any animals (owner surrenders or strays) at this time unless they come in through our LIFETIME CARE PROGRAM (details below).  We have an extensive waiting list of animals needing to enter our sanctuary doors.  Priority will be given to those animals being surrendered through our LIFETIME CARE PROGRAM.
LIFETIME CARE PROGRAM
We at Angel’s Rest provide critical care to animals in need or in danger and do not routinely accept owner-surrendered animals.  As we are a very small, fairly new animal sanctuary with limited funding, and were recognized in 2011 by DogBreedsInfo.org for our excellence in providing services to “underprivileged” animals, the demand for us to take animals has been overwhelming.  In order to maintain the level of care we currently provide our life-long and/or temporary residents we are forced to place limitations on the animals we are able to take.
Toward that end, we have created the LIFETIME CARE PROGRAM.  This program was designed so that we could accept owner-surrendered animals that meet our criteria as follows:
1)  Animal must have a special need that requires our high level of care.  This includes cats that are FIV+/FeLV+, very old animals, or animals with a life-long affliction that would make them poor candidates for adoption at shelters or other rescue facilities.
2)  Owner must agree to an up-front surrender donation and/or monthly financial support for the animal.  The amount of the donation will vary and will be dependent on the following documentation:
3)  Owner must agree to complete a surrender form relinquishing their right to the animal.  Angel’s Rest reserves the right to place the animal in a foster home or have it live its life at the sanctuary.  Angel’s Rest will make a lifetime commitment to any animal that is accepted into our program and will make decisions about the animal only in its best interest.
4)  Any animals bequeathed to Angel’s Rest, must first receive prior approval by one of our officers and will not be accepted into our sanctuary without meeting the above criteria.
Please note that all decisions on animals admitted through our Lifetime Care Program are made in conjunction with the animal’s owner and every case is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
