A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

We're in the news again! Here is the article and accompanying video from WCPO. To see a full list of the available animals in this program, click here

CINCINNATI - Angel's Rest Animal Sanctuary in New Richmond is looking for temporary homes for several dogs this holiday season. Even if you can only foster a dog for a day or or a week, it's beneficial to get the dogs out of the sanctuary setting.
Angel's Rest founder Perla Medina-Kinne says the program they call "Home for the Holidays" is a guilt-free way for someone to have a short term pet.
Many of the dogs are senior age or have terminal illnesses. So even if it's for a short time, you can have wagging tail and a cuddle partner for the holidays.

"A lot of these dogs don't have a lot of time left. Just being in a home even if it's just for a day, it's a blessing to them," said Medina-Kinne.
If you are interested in fostering a dog from the Angel's Rest that was featured on 9 News, you can visit their website at www.angelsrestanimalsanctuary.org or call (513) 800-PET (513-800-0738).

RILEY (NOW BENTLEY) IS A HERO!

Emailed by Bentley's Mom Kathleen -- Bentley was slated for euthanasia by many because he was a "bad dog" and had a heart condition.  Heart condition is nonexistent and with some patience and understanding, he was adopted into the perfect forever home with mom Kathleen.)

I rescued Bentley and Bentley rescued me today.  I rented a bush hog to do the high grass and bushes along the fence and when I put it in reverse, I pinned myself against the fence !!!

I started crying and Bentley rushed over to me, gently pushed my leg and then then started jumping and growling and barking at the bush hog, madly jumping around it like he was crazed, then all of a sudden he put his head against the front wheel and pushed it forward.  I fell to the ground and laid on the grass and he laid next to me and licked my face for 15 minutes !!!  He would not leave my side, he was practically touching my leg as I walked back to the house and I laid on his bed with him for an hour.

When I went back out to finish he walked right next to me the entire time and every time I came near the fence he started jumping around and barking at the bush hog. He is the smartest dog I ever had, I love him so very much, I think I will sleep in his bed next to him for awhile tonight.

I will never be able to thank you for letting me have him, my Beasty Boy when he needs to be and my cute loving Bentley Boy most of the time -  I love him so very much.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG AT ANGEL'S REST

Wow, it has been a crazy few months! We adopted out puppies in addition to a few of the adoptable adults. We've also taken in a few rehab cases and "lifers."
We just opened our Thrift Store in New Richmond and are thrilled with the opportunity to raise money and interact more with the community. As we were leaving the Grand Opening, we found a dog that had just been hit by a car. We quickly scooped her up, named her NORAH and rushed her to the emergency vet. Although the vet was initially worried about a brain injury, NORAH seems to have beat the odds and will be okay! Norah is in a foster home which we hope will be her forever home.

We were alerted of an emaciated Great Dane that has been saved from an abuse situation. We named him WILLY and will surely plump him up and get him to a forever home ASAP! WILLY is in Pennsylvania in his new forever home along with sister Bella (a female Dane).
We pulled a very pregnant mixed-breed female who was SUPER pregnant! She was repeatedly bred, but by coming to ARAS, we can assure her that this would be her LAST litter. Miss MIAH gave birth to 7 puppies: 6 boys and 1 girl!
